About the Speaker / Author

Mark is an “International”, having lived and worked in Singapore, Egypt, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, UK and the USA (his home country), as well as married to a Japanese wife.  He has worked across distances and cultures for all his working life, being at home everywhere, and maybe not at home in any one single place.

Mark is an international speaker, and talks regularly on the Power of Ownership in Leading Across Distances & Cultures.  He is affiliated with the prestigious global speaking bureau CSA Speakers, and is a visiting professor at the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.  He is also the Managing Director of Procedor, an international consulting company focused on helping executives successfully lead across distances and cultures, and still have a life.

Mark brings the experience of an International Business career with Eastman Kodak Company and has worked in various areas of the business (IT, Customer Services, Distribution and Quality), and has led Pan-European Organisations during this time with Kodak.  Early in his career, Mark had implemented home-grown enterprise systems in Kodak companies around the world, providing him with a tremendous learning of how business works (both top to bottom, and side to side), and then later worked alongside Kodak’s regional management to help develop Kodak’s European business models for the future.

Mark has always had a strong interest in his own development and is constantly listening to audio books, podcasts and various educational & motivational audios to grow to his potential.  This personal development has made a difference in his life, and starting Procedor was also about making a difference in the lives of others as well.   He started “Mark’s Daily Thought” in 2005 and produces a unique daily thought on his website to help inspire action in others, with many people subscribing weekly email of the next seven days of thoughts (or to the RSS feed).

Mark is the author of Time to Get Started, a compilation of the best of first 18 months of his Daily Thoughts.  Also, he is the author of The Truth About Getting Things Done, 42 Truths that combines the best from both time management and motivation books, and provides you with practical ideas and insights that enable you to take action from today.

Mark resides in London, UK with his Japanese wife Atsuko and two cats (Pinky & Smokey).
